The story:

One of my first profitable niche websites was a dating advice website. I started it because I found an audience that was hungry for dating advice and they loved the content I was putting out in the group. I decided this content could be better served on my own site and I could even expand upon it to make some money. Of course, I wanted to help people too!

I built and promoted the site using everything I show you in my articles here. I set up the site how I show you in the site structure section, used good keywords, and a good brandable domain. My mistake was, I started my first profit steam as a book I wrote. That was a lot of work! It wasn’t even as long as I thought it would be, but I will say, it was pretty good. This is a bad way to go about profiting from your niche website. That content I wrote in the book would have been better served on my website in the blog section or as a resource for email addresses.

The site still gets good traffic and makes a little money. I lost interest in this site because I’m married, so I can’t date anymore. I mean, I don’t want to date anymore! The book gets sales, but at some point, I will likely use it as a resource to get email addresses. Or, I might include it with the site if I decide to sell it altogether. What is dating?

Dating is a stage of romantic relationships in humans whereby two people meet socially with the aim of each assessing the other’s suitability as a prospective partner in an intimate relationship.

Dating is the courtship period between two people where they decide if they want to have an intimate relationship. Dating used to involve meeting someone in person or through social circles. This dramatically decreased the most people’s dating pool of people to those located in their local area. Now, you can date someone locally or on the other side of the planet thanks to online dating.

Online dating and dating apps have completely changed the courtship process. Now, instead of seeing a person and walking up to start a conversation, you simply have to swipe right on your phone. Then, you have to send a good message that will intrigue the person enough to reply. You also have to make sure your profile is in good shape so the person is interested when they inevitably check your profile.

The unnatural process of online dating has presented many people with different challenges. Guys are sending hundreds of messages in hopes of getting a few replies. Women are receiving too many messages, even after they express no interest. Older people are using pictures from when they were younger and thinner. Younger people are only wanting to hookup. These challenges present a huge opportunity for anyone interested in giving dating advice.

What I like about this niche

Dating is an evergreen niche that is never going away. People will continually date otherwise that’ll be the end of human existence. So, to say this niche is never going away is an understatement.

The online dating market keeps growing as more apps get developed with new concepts. Some apps allow women to send the first message. Some apps are for the LGB community. These new apps with different concepts will keep pulling in new customers and making more money.

Many different products to promote and opportunities to create your own products. I haven’t found many niches that have a good amount of Amazon, Clickbank, and JVZOO products. Usually it’s only one, maybe two marketplaces at most. You can also branch out and include related niches like clothing, jewelry, gag gifts, and more!

Many people are frustrated with their online dating experience and need help. The advent of online dating has left a large group of younger people clueless about dating. They don’t know dating norms, basic courtship, or even how to talk to the opposite sex. Or same sex. Whatever their preference. This presents a huge opportunity to educate people on how to do something they should be able to naturally do. It’s not their fault though. Online dating does disrupt the normal courtship routines so they must be relearned and improved for the new age of dating.

It’s fairly easy to find groups of people interested in dating advice. This is what led me to start my dating advice niche site. Large groups of people who are anxious for dating advice because they’re sick of being alone and will do nearly anything for a companion. Or a hookup.

You can easily rank for user-generated keywords because new questions are always being asked about dating. I learned this from my dating advice site. People are continually asking new questions related to the newest apps or trends which gives you the opportunity to rank for these specific keywords.

Many brandable exact-match domains (EMD). EMDs don’t have the weight they used to when it comes to SEO, but you can still create a great brand around these domains. I could’ve kept find more if I kept looking. I would add some creativity though, and try to brand my own domain without EMD. But, if you like the EMDs, I have them here for you!

What I don’t like about this niche

Men don’t seem to spend as much as women. I found this trending personally on my dating advice site. Seemed like they mainly wanted free advice. Of my niche sites, the men were definitely converting at the lowest percentage I’ve seen. I also believe thats why the authoritative dating coaches target women.

People can have unrealistic expectations for dating advice. They sometimes want this magic phrase they can say that will make any woman strip off her clothes and sex them immeditately. Or, they want to know how many people they need to date to find a spouse. These people often criticize dating advice and become the “anti-dater.” Not a huge problem, but this can be annoying.

Somewhat high-competition as more authoritative dating coaches have been established for decades. They have huge sites and have been building them for awhile. This is why you must find a sub niche within this category or you’ll struggle to get established.

I also like the idea of making a quiz called something like the, “What dating app should I use?” Then, ask for the user’s email after the quiz either a ?gate? page or the results page.

These are large groups of people looking for dating advice. I could’ve kept finding more groups like this if I kept searching. It would be beneficial for you to target the sub niche groups for the promotion of your niche site. You can also target local areas who have formed dating groups based on geography.

FB groups

These Facebook groups have large numbers of people interested in dating advice. I like that these groups have a large number of people and are already focused on our niche. The other groups don’t have as many followers, but you can find good numbers in groups that are focused on a sub niche of dating advice. You can also find good numbers in groups that are based around local areas or states.

The SEO difficulty for the dating advice niche is extremely difficult to the untrained eye.

The generic keywords are all dominated by the big dating apps and established dating coaches. This is why you should choose a sub niche and focus on answering their questions.

You should also search dating advice groups and forums for user-generated keywords. These are actual questions people are asking that you can rank high and get small amounts of traffic. Those small amounts of traffic add up to tons of traffic over time.

My dating advice niche site actually holds a few answer box positions which brings in a ton of traffic. These positions are user-generated keywords that supposedly get zero searches per month, but my site gets 100s of visitors from them. Target those user-generated, sub niche keywords for long-term SEO success!
