WASHINGTON, April 14 (Reuters) – The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Friday granted a long-awaited license permitting Elon Musk's SpaceX to launch its Starship rocket to orbit for the primary time, clearing the best way for a check flight essential to the corporate's targets in area.
“After a complete license analysis course of, the FAA decided SpaceX met all security, environmental, coverage, payload, airspace integration and monetary duty necessities,” the FAA stated in a press release on Friday, including that the license is legitimate for 5 years.
The launch, from SpaceX's Starbase rocket amenities in Boca Chica, Texas, is slated for Monday April 17, the corporate affirmed on Twitter. Regulatory notices filed earlier on Friday point out liftoff may happen anytime from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central time.
