FRANKFURT, Jan 28 (Reuters) – Ford (F.N) executives have indicated they're prepared to carry talks with labour representatives over deliberate structural adjustments on the U.S. carmaker's crops in Germany, the top of the employee's council at Ford's Cologne plant mentioned on Saturday.
Ford mentioned on Jan. 20 that its deliberate shift to electrical automobile (EV) manufacturing would require unspecified structural adjustments, giving rise to fears of job cuts at its German manufacturing websites.
Ford dedicated to an all-electric lineup in Europe by 2030 and its U.S. management has repeatedly flagged that EVs require much less labour.
German union officers mentioned on Wednesday that Ford would resolve by mid-February what number of jobs to chop in Europe.
“Ford administration has indicated their willingness to speak,” Benjamin Gruschka, who's affiliated with commerce union IG Metall, informed a media briefing in Cologne.
